Then Man Created the Computer

It was another night, sublime light falling into the room where the girl lay across the bed, upset and unsettled, screaming within her skull voices incomprehensible to be said out loud. That day a ship had arrived at a safe harbour, hundreds of passengers disembarked and coveted their new location. Some families, some misfits, some vacationers all there to enjoy and misuse the resources of the island. A long shaggy man looked at the customs and decided that that day would remain within him forever as there was a slight breeze and the girl sitting in front of the pavement reminded him of a girlfriend he once had when he was too young and she was even younger. He could not take his eyes off this strange creature as she fumbled her little hands in her huge bag trying to rearrange her belongings with the ultimate goal of finding her sunglasses. The sun was scortching hot and the day was even hotter, a day in what hell might be like if there was a 'pretend you're in heaven party'. She looked and looked within the dark interior of the linen bag when she finally found something else more interesting than sunglasses. She stared at the ticket for five minutes and then decided she was going nowhere. People stumbled over her, trampling over the pavement, heading helplessly like a herd of sheep to the direction of the information desks. She did not move.

And then man created the computer and literature became nostalgic. Quick fast-food writing prevailed and the story was never continued.
